Weber Shandwick Korea appoints Steven Koh as managing director
With nearly 30 years of agency experience, Steven previously held MD roles at Wunderman, TBWA Worldwide, and OgilvyOne Worldwide.
Earlier this week, global PR firm Weber Shandwick announced that it had hired Steven Koh to serve as the firm's new managing director (MD) for South Korea.
He will be reporting to Tyler Kim, Weber Shandwick's CEO of Asia Pacific, and overseeing the Korean team's operational, strategic, and growth strategies.
Steven has nearly 30 years of agency experience under his belt and is no stranger to the leadership role. He has served as MD of several multiple big agencies, including Wunderman, TBWA Worldwide, and OgilvyOne Worldwide. Most recently, he was the brand strategy officer for SK geocentric, part of the South Korean conglomerate SK Group.
According to PRovoke Media, Steven will replace former MD Juny Lee, who left the post last month.
"The needs of our clients today go far beyond the realm of PR. With Steven's extensive cross disciplinary insights across creative and marketing, I anticipate he will be a powerful catalyst in taking our Korean business to the next level," said Tyler Kim. "Our operations in Korea have been a trailblazer in the regional industry for many years; I'm excited to see that reputation flourish and grow under Steven's leadership."
Late last year, the agency announced the formation of Weber Shandwick Futures, a new initiative focused on identifying potential investments, partnerships, and M&A opportunities. Weber Shandwick currently competes with other big, global agencies like Edelman, BCW, and FleishmanHillard.
